Back into the normal cadence and rhythm of food shopping and cooking at last, without road trips, flights, or colds to hold us back, Jamie eases in with some requested Cauliflower rice from Charlie, and more comfort foods to curl up with. One last week of family visitors has come and gone bringing the total to 6 in the past month and a half. We are ready to get back into our pattern and swing of things for the winter, reconfirming what we already knew: we are the habit types — nothing really feels settled and on point unless I can start the day with my first cup of coffee in silence over a book before I wade into the day’s calendar of necessities.
…And today, I did just that.
