Meal Plan – Week #35 (Written by Jamie)

Cost: $38.59 // $3.22/serving *

(*Note: This was a weird gap-filling week, due to lingering illness in Jamie and Drew’s household. Fortunately, Charlie had extra food leftover from her sisters’ visit (and the store of stewps in the freezer), so she was able to make her food stretch until we could get her a few days of fridge refill. The per meal cost is particularly high this week due to picking up a few staples (like Tamari) that will be used across many months.)

Meal Plan Diet Categories: (Gluten-Free, Lactose/Dairy Free, Diabetes Diet, Low Fat/Low Cholesterol, Cardiac Diet, Paleo, Vegan, Vegetarian)

When colds (not even the Covid kind) still rage on through your meal planning, you need to go fast, and basic.

Charlie was responsible for her own fresh veg this week as the only things we passed on from our kitchen were reheatable, where the cooking would kill anything our preparing might have inflicted on it. A little Asian and Latin food flavors for options — a quick chicken bake and stirfry in the wok, and Jamie was done for the short extension week of food to get Charlie the rest of the way until our usual Friday full meal drop.

From here (Thursday, upon writing), we are feeling human again, can breathe out of all nose holes, and the massive collection of cold meds have been retired to the medicine cabinet. May they collect dust until their expiration dates. It’s been two years since we’ve had colds, and here’s hoping it’s another two before we have to go through all that again.

Stay healthy all, and eat well!
